UHF Base Antenna with +5dB Gain - perfect for repeaters  and GMRS- US patent  8,947,313<br>Available in Commercial (such as GMRS)  (460-470 MHz) version or HAM  (440-450 MHz).<br>Please include a note when you order on which antenna version you want otherwise we send you the Commercial (GMRS) since this the most popular.<br>This antenna was featured in<br>CQ- VHF Summer Addition 2012<br>“An Omnidirectional Gain Antenna for UHF without Radials”.<br>Designed by Dr. Ed Fong WB6IQN of Univ. of California (formally at Berkeley and presently at Santa Cruz - Silicon Valley).<br>It is US Patent 8,947,313.<br>This antenna offers +5dB gain over a ground plane and has no ground radials. It is only 3 1/2 feet tall.<br>Perfect for repeaters, backup repeaters, portable repeaters or base station.<br>This antenna was originally developed under a grant from AC Daugherty Inc. for a MESH network.<br>It has a small foot print and therefore can withstand 150MPH winds.<br>It is basically a 2 element vertical phase collinear separate by ½ lambda but with very low loss coupling elements.<br>Each antenna is custom built and tuned to your requested frequency by me or my graduate students.
